The K-II EMF meter is one of the best low-cost devices available for the paranormal investigator. It is handy, reliable and very sensitive, and has proven itself in the field.  Many investigators have been using it as an electronic version of the Ouija board - a method allowing interactive communications.

Like all things, there is room for improvement. Many persons have problems holding down the pushbutton activation switch, and thumb fatigue sets in after only a few minutes. This causes the indicators to flash, and makes it look like activity is present when it is not. The thumb switch makes it impossible to set the unit down and still leave it turned on. Some people have used a coin wedged in the switch to keep it activated, but the coin is easily pushed too far and will short out the circuit board, destroying the meter.

The unit is powered by a single 9 volt battery. These batteries are designed for low-drain usage and after a time the unit will appear to work but the sensitivity drops substantially. And as you know, sometimes batteries drain by themselves in areas where there is substantial paranormal activity.

Our Basic Upgrade, the Mini-K

Our basic K-II modification addresses all the problems above as well as providing a new case which will stand up by itself and allows the indicator lights to be easily photographed or videoed from a distance.

Your K-II is disassembled, tested, and then repackaged into a new case, provided with an external recessed switch, and an internal battery pack that uses AA penlight cells, replacing the low-capacity 9 volt battery.

The new case is black, which allows the indicator lights to be easily seen from a distance, and the case is easily stood on its end or sides for unattended operation.

Furthermore, the new battery pack allows continuous usage for over 100 hours, and intermittent usage for much, much longer. The large capacity battery pack keeps steady current flowing even while all indicators are flashing, which insures sensitive operation at all times.

The unit is shipped completely tested and loaded with a fresh set of premium alkaline batteries, so it's ready to go as soon as you receive it.

Our handiest K-II modification addresses all the problems above as well as providing a new case which will stand up by itself and allows the indicator lights to be easily photographed or videoed from a distance.

For persons wanting the smallest possible package, and who are willing to sacrifice runtime, this is the best option. This unit will have the same runtime as a standard K-II, about 20 hours.

The new case is black, which allows the indicator lights to be easily seen from a distance, and the case is easily stood on its end or sides for unattended operation.

As an option, we can include a Lithium-Ion battery, which will have about 8 times the life of a standard 9 volt battery. This will allow longer runtime between battery changes.

Our Advanced Upgrade

Our advanced K-II modification goes much further! In addition to the above, we use a solid aluminum molded enclosure to prevent stray signals from entering and causing false readings. This is not a flimsy stamped metal box, but a molded, RF-proof, water resistant commercial grade enclosure.

Additionally, the internal antenna is disabled and an external antenna loop connector is installed. This allows the use of different antenna styles based on the investigation at hand. We provide a basic loop antenna with the upgrade and others are available at extra cost.

Finally, we add an adjustable gain control to prevent overloading and to allow tuning out background EMF. This increases the overall usefulness of the system, particularly in using it to detect EVP activity.
